Referendum Question
"Shall the Darlington Community School District, Lafayette County, Wisconsin be authorized to issue pursuant to Chapter 67 of the Wisconsin Statutes, general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $6,000,000 for the public purpose of paying the cost of a school building and facility improvement project consisting of: Improvements at the High School, including for expansion of the Career and Technical Education department; acquisition of Career and Technical Education equipment; district-wide capital maintenance, building infrastructure and site improvements; construction of an addition and renovations at the Elementary School, including for four year old kindergarten classrooms; and acquisition of furnishings, fixtures and equipment?"

Considerations
- The payments on this new debt will not begin until the payments on a past debt end.
- This will allow our local taxes to remain steady as the state will continue to reimburse approximately 40% of the payment through state aide.
- The number of students registering for Tech. Ed. classes has risen over that last few years and we are frequently forced to make kids wait for these classes. Classroom space for projects is another significant issue. Welding and Woods specifically need more space for student projects.
- After over 100 years of operation, the Holy Rosary school closed this year. This not only added students to our rosters, it created an immediate need for an additional 4K space in an already full building.
- We have one of the most robust and widely respected Theatre departments in this part of the state and they need more space.
