Welcome to Darlington Community School District's new website!  This page is to help you get acquainted with the new site and introduce you to elements that are intended to help you get around and find the information you are looking for. We recommend taking the time to read this full page to understand our new site.

Utility Links

Located on the left of the site, the utility links are easy to access links for our return visitors.  When you hover over an icon, a short description of the link will appear. The utility links include:

The Schools link will open to display the Schools menu. The Schools menu opens when selected to show a list of the schools.  Each school may be selected in order to be brought directly to that school's landing page.

Main Menu

At the top right of the site, you will find the primary navigation method. The  menu is indicated by a button with three horizontal lines alongside the text "Menu." Select the Menu to open the main menu. The main menu includes the district main navigation categories.  When accessing each navigation category, a drop-down menu will appear with additional primary links and corresponding secondary links as well as the callouts. 

Internal Menu

On the left side of many pages within our new site, you will find the inside navigation. This navigation shows all of the pages within that category.  There are up to three levels of pages.  Once you select a level 1 page, it's level 2 pages will show. Once you select a level 2 page, it's level 3 pages will show.

Mobile Menu

Our new site is fully responsive, which means it will adjust to any device that you are viewing it on.  On mobile devices, all of the site menus including the main and inside menu will collapse into one mobile menu.  The mobile menu is indicated by a button with three horizontal lines alongside the text "Menu." 

Once the button has been selected, the full menu will open. The utility links will be at the top of the menu. You will be able to expand and collapse the full menu by using the arrows on the right side of the menu. 

Home Page

The home page for the district is designed to give you important information at a glance. The following explanations of each section will help you navigate and understand the purpose of each section on the landing page.

Entrance Area

The entrance area of our site showcases photos of students in action and the highlights of our campuses and buildings.  Periodically check to see new images of students and staff.  Use the arrows in the lower right to scroll through images.

Stories

This story section will show a set of stories that showcase Darlington Community School District.  A story may have an image or video associated with it.  These stories may include events, programs, news, or updates.

Icon Quick Links

The icon quick links section is meant to get you to the content you need quickly. Families should regularly use this section to get important information. 

Upcoming Events

This section shows the upcoming events for the district and the schools. Select the calendar tabs to view the events for the different calendars. The upcoming events section shows the next 5 days of events with up to 3 events each day. If there are more events than 3 in a day, an arrow will appear.  You can select the arrow to show all events that day.   

At any time, you can visit the full calendar for each calendar by using the "View Full Calendar" link below the events.

If there are no events within the next week, the section may not appear.

Featured Stories

The featured story section will show one or a set of stories that showcase Darlington Community School District.  A story may have an image or video associated with it. Check this section to find out how Darlington Community School District is unique and engaging students
